Bedrijfsarts
De bedrijfsarts is een onafhankelijk adviseur voor zowel de werknemer als de werkgever.
Vanwege het ongemak en de kosten die arbeidsverzuim met zich meebrengt voor beiden ligt het accent van het werk van de bedrijfsarts toch vaak op de ziekteverzuim begeleiding en adviezen rondom re-integratie. Er is een gezamenlijk doel, namelijk: dat het goed gaat met de medewerker en deze weer kan werken.

Verzuimbegeleiding
In de verzuimbegeleiding zijn wij erop gericht om aandacht te hebben voor de actuele situatie van de medewerker en dit te vertalen naar arbeidsmogelijkheden. Vanaf het begin van de ziekmelding moeten bepaalde stappen gezet worden die staan omschreven in de Wet Verbetering Poortwachter. Dit is noodzakelijk om het proces goed te laten verlopen en problemen na 2 jaar ziekte te voorkomen. In het advies wat de bedrijfsarts geeft aan het einde van een spreekuur staat of iemand arbeidsongeschikt is, welke beperkingen er gelden op dat moment en wat de arbeidsmogelijkheden zijn. De medewerker is op de hoogte van het advies wat wordt gegeven. Het advies bevat geen medische informatie zoals een diagnose of klachten. De bedrijfsarts kan de werkgever adviseren met betrekking tot de logistieke invulling van het advies.
Verzuimbeleid
Als de individuele verzuimbegeleiding goed loopt en de werkgever daar ook goed invulling aan kan geven dan kan er ook ruimte ontstaan om te spreken over verzuimbeleid
Arbeidsomstandigheden
In sommige situaties zijn de arbeidsomstandigheden aanleiding voor het ontstaan van klachten en arbeidsverzuim. Meestal wordt dit pas duidelijk als iemand zich heeft ziekgemeld en op het spreekuur komt bij de bedrijfsarts. De bedrijfsarts kan dit dan met toestemming van de medewerker bespreken met de werkgever en dan samen naar een oplossing zoeken voor de situatie.
Preventie
Naast alle activiteiten die verricht worden als er al ziekteverzuim is ontstaan moet er ook aandacht zijn voor het voorkomen van verzuim.
